Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (WLEP) works with partners from both the private and public sectors to develop a vision for the future. Their main objective is to harness the enormous potential of the county and to nurture and create an environment of economic growth and stability in which businesses can thrive and grow.
The Strategic Economic Plan resulted in Growth Deal funding for a number of infrastructure projects to secure Worcestershire’s place as a world class environment in which to work, visit, invest and do business. This included a range of schemes to improve skills, connectivity, access to key employment sites and Superfast Broadband.
Many of these projects have already been completed or are well under way. For example, Kidderminster and Worcestershire Parkway railway stations have benefited from significant improvements. There have also been improvements to Worcestershire’s Southern Link Road and several flood alleviation developments. Many employment sites have been supported and are progressing well, offering attractive opportunities for investors.
All of these activities strengthen Worcestershire’s appeal as a fantastic location for business. Please do get in touch to find out more.
WLEP and its partners developed a 10 year Strategic Economic Plan that was agreed and submitted to Government in March 2014. This outlined its vision to…
Create 25,000 jobs
Increase Gross Value Added (GVA) by £2.9 billion and;
Contribute towards the delivery of 21,500 homes by 2025.
